Electronic systems
By integrating individual safety components and systems, it is possible to create entirely new functions for improved safety. However, this means an increase in the number of installed control modules and sensors. Additionally, demands placed on electronic systems are becoming ever more complex.
As a company, we think in terms of complete, end-to-end systems. This allows us to offer reliable, flexible and scalable solutions tailored to OEMs’ needs. This enables us to create innovative functions, and to reduce system complexity at the same time.
E/E Architectures
A modern vehicle comes equipped with many individual control units and sensors for safety, agility and comfort functions. With new and improved vehicle functions, the number of control units and the complexity of vehicle electronics continue to increase. Up to now, the inertial sensors of the Electronic Stability Program ESP® have been installed in a separate sensor cluster. Bosch offers three concepts of the electric/electronic architecture (E/E architecture) to permit omission of this separate sensor cluster and to reduce overall complexity, fitting space requirements and costs.
- Integration of the inertial sensors in the ESP® control unit: Particularly suitable for vehicles in which ESP® is offered as an option.
- AB plus – integration of the inertial sensors in the airbag control unit: Particularly suitable for vehicles in which airbags and ESP® are standard equipment.
