Function
Robert Bosch Car Multimedia GmbH develops smart solutions for the integration of entertainment, navigation, telematics and driver assistance functions in the Original Equipment business.
“Smart” means that we provide perfect management for all the media in the vehicle. As a result, drivers as well as passengers will get to their destinations safe and sound, and relaxed as well.
Optimizing the future of the mobile world is the task and Driving Convenience is the goal. That is why Bosch Car Multimedia works day after day on making driving vehicles in its increasing complexity easier, less expensive and safer.
Navigation and Infotainment systems
We develop automotive navigation and infotainment systems to support the driver in any driving situation, to increase driving safety and to contribute to the entertainment of the vehicle passengers.
One focus lies on system interaction with other vehicle domains to reduce emissions and to provide for greater safety and convenience.
Our engineering work also focuses on the further development of a conveniently and intuitively controlled HMI (Human Machine Interface) and the easy connectivity of portable devices.
We also help to design and implement the standardization requirements of car makers (e.g. data formats, interfaces) with a careful eye on what will be required in the future as well. We meet the demands made by the consumer electronics market for short innovation cycles with new functions developed on the basis of professional concepts at a high level.
Instrumentation systems
As one of the world's leading suppliers for the automotive industry, Bosch Car Multimedia reveals its OE competence in display and control elements for vehicle and driver assistance functions. These include display surfaces within the driver's range of vision and extensive networking of individual systems via the vehicle's bus system.
Using gateways and other vehicle interfaces, information, from a camera, for example, can be fed into the system and processed. This makes it possible to realize additional intelligent functions that support the driver and/or passenger in navigation or in critical driving situations.
One of the latest developments is DualView, a new type of display that is able to show two pictures at the same time,depending on which angle they are viewed from: navigation information for the driver, for example, and entertainment for the front-seat passenger.
In addition to safety, all of our new developments focus on ergonomics, driving convenience, design and easy operation. After all, our main aim is to consistently satisfy all the demands made on pioneering technology in the vehicle.
