Glow control unit Glow control unit Glow plug Glow plug

The glow control unit (GCU) monitors and controls the glow plugs (GLP) in an open loop. The GCU is generally mounted within the engine compartment. Therefore it has to fulfill high requirements regarding operating temperature, vibration, housing protection and electromagnetic interference.

In the Bosch portfolio you will find the right GCU for every requirement: electronically controlled or relay based control units for low-voltage or 11-V glow plugs, with a scope of function that suits the vehicle network.

Bosch offers a complete range of glow plugs (GLP) for every application which secure comfortable starting, improved cold running and lower emissions.

The range comprises metal or ceramic GLP with different heating-element diameters. According to the application’s requirements, the GLP with the best-suited characteristics is selected: operational voltage, maximum glow temperature, heating time, and glow duration are the main characteristics.

All GLP are characterized by their high resistance against chemical, mechanical and thermal stress, which makes them very durable.
