Automotive Competence

Automotive competence

New challenges are driving both the automotive industry and Bosch forward. Given calls for climate protection, stricter international emissions standards, and the finite nature of the world’s oil reserves, everything points to a change in the type of drive used by the automobiles of the future.

Although this change will not take place overnight, we see the electric drive as inevitable. As the world’s leading automotive and systems supplier, we at Bosch will drive forward this change and commit our beneficial innovations to safeguarding the personal mobility of the future.

Our approach is characterized by a two-pronged effort: we’ll do the one thing without neglecting the other. As always, Bosch is planning for the long term – for the time when electric vehicles will be a viable economic alternative. However, in the meantime we want to and will continue developing the internal-combustion engine for many years to come. There is still considerable potential for increasing the efficiency of both gasoline and diesel engines.

Vehicles today have to be clean, economical, and high-performance, but they also have to be safe and comfortable – regardless of the type of drive system used. This is another major area of innovation at Bosch. In this area, too, we are driven by a vision: the vision of accidentfree driving – made possible by Bosch technology that is “Invented for life.”
